"Time flows in a strange way on Sundays"
I followed, using my camera, the lives of a young couple for a lengthy Sunday, in Bologna.
We had breakfast together; during the shower, I was in the bathroom with them; I was present when Eugenia tied Maru with ropes with a mix of tenderness and confidence; I was having lunch with them in their kitchen, where Maru cooked and Eugenia washed the dishes; I was present in the bedroom with them, striving not to intrude on their privacy but being present in an external and documentary manner, trying to catch an intimacy gaze.
Maru and Eugenia, the one is a musician and the other a poet, greeted me at their home with grace and vulnerability. And I tried to fit into their Sunday life in the most natural way possible to make them feel comfortable. And so it was.
Living with them in the present moment felt like entering into an intimate relationship with the experience. I am grateful for this opportunity of intimacy granted to me. Because I'm very introvert person and I find so hard to relate with people.
"Close to Me" is the initial series of a photo project that explores how Sexuality and Love and Art can be compatible with the pursuit of Identity and how Closeness allows you to be constantly involved, to rethink ourselves and contaminate with others, suspending judgment. Whilst remaining just "Photos from Sunday".
I never thought this day would end
I never thought tonight could ever be
